Categories: Self Improvement | October 12th, 2011 | by admin | no comments

You can make a particularly lovely stay for your house guests quite easily. Begin with cleaning your home the day before their arrival. Always start with the bathrooms and make them as clean as a good hotel. Set out fresh towels on the counter as this will make it clear these are the ones your guests may use. If you wish to add a special touch, set out a fresh bar of soap and guest toiletries as if this were a spa.

Self-Improvement – God’s Approval

Categories: Self Improvement | October 11th, 2011 | by admin | no comments

Man’s approval means nothing unless you already have God’s approval which means eternal life. Many times the temptation in life is to please people at the expense of pleasing God. George Washington said, “If, to please the people, we offer what we ourselves disapprove, how can we afterward defend our work? Let us raise a standard to which the wise and honest can repair.”

We need to raise the standard by lifting our eyes to Jesus. By asking the question, “What would Jesus want me to do?” or “What would Jesus do in this situation?” By so doing, we will more closely live the life God wants us to live. By pleasing God, we won’t always please our fellow man. But what is more important: pleasing the Creator of the universe who holds your life in His hands or some imperfect human being walking on God’s earth?

Self-Improvement – Here Are My Personal Favorite Quotes That I Live By, Learn By and Grow By

Categories: Self Improvement | October 9th, 2011 | by admin | no comments

I am an average Joe in many ways, but I draw a very quick and distinct line in the sand when it comes to issues of integrity.

When I see someone lying, cheating and stealing, then acting like they are helping me when in fact they are relieving me of my money while lining their pockets, I take umbrage.

Self Improvement

There are no excuses for wrongdoing. I could care less whether your friends, corporate fat cats or even your grandmother is doing it. To justify wrongdoing is saying that everyone else is killing people they do not like so it must be OK for me to kill people too.

Self-Improvement – Enhance Your Inner Communication Skills and Feel Empowered

Categories: Self Improvement | October 8th, 2011 | by admin | no comments

We generally think of communication as being external between people.  Yet there is another very important way we communicate and that is the inner dialogue we have with ourselves. No one besides us is aware that this is going on.  Depending on how we talk to ourselves this inner dialogue will empower us or limit us based on what we say to ourselves.

Do you talk to yourself in an accepting positive way or are there many negative messages that pop up in your mind?  If you want to increase your self esteem work on strengthening your inner dialogue.

Self-Improvement Sabotage – Learned Helplessness

Categories: Self Improvement | October 3rd, 2011 | by admin | no comments

Learned helplessness quite simply occurs when you have learned to believe that you are helpless in a particular situation. The end result is that you believe that no matter what you do the result is written in stone even though you may actually have the ability to change the outcome.

It is theorized that depression occurs when you perceive that you have no control over your life based in large part upon what has happened in the past.

Self Improvement

It is my belief that mistakes and failures by definition are adjectives which describe past events. Therefore those of us who have chosen to grow and evolve into someone who is infinitely wiser than we once were, quite frankly, could care less about what happened in the past.

Spiritual Self-Improvement – Do You Make Intimacy With God Your Key Priority in Life?

Categories: Self Improvement | August 28th, 2011 | by admin | no comments

Spiritual self-improvement and growth requires intimacy with God; the great power source in life. Unfortunately, the natural thing for most of us to do is become absorbed in our day-to-day problems and demands. On any given day, many people face stressful situations, extreme trials, and even heart-breaks with marriages, family members, or friends. All this tends to keep the focus on self.

Learning to Look Beyond

Self Improvement

When we learn to look beyond the trials and obstacles and fix our eyes on Jesus, and believe God is Sovereign, we will begin to have a different perspective and response to everything we face. The Bible teaches us that God uses all things, even the painful things, for the good of believers. One of the positive results of trials is the intimacy that can develop when we turn to the Lord for help.

Self-Improvement Means Taking Things One Step At A Time

Categories: Self Improvement | August 8th, 2011 | by admin | no comments

So often I hear clients tell me that they can’t start something because they might not like it. For example, they explain that they would not apply for a specific job because the employer might not offer them a suitable salary.

My advice is always the same. I suggest that they break the project down into little pieces and make decisions at points along the way.

Self Improvement

You see, basing big decisions on lack of information isn’t very wise.

If you apply for a job there are a number of steps that have to be taken:
