To live with a positive attitude is the only way to live in this world. What did negativity ever accomplish other than bad feelings? Life is what you make it, and the results that you get and live with are directly linked to your thoughts, attitudes and actions, so it makes sense to focus on every good thing and live in an attitude of appreciation! Always searching for the positive will allow you energy, happiness, inspiration and a peaceful mind. By contrast a negative attitude will automatically set limitations because you are setting the precedent for failure. Your feelings about yourself, if you expect people to judge you and see your frailties you will have a constant feeling of guilt, a degree of depression and low self-esteem. Whereas if you adopt the attitude that you are who you are, and thats okay, no matter what anybody thinks; you need to accept yourself unconditionally and youll find the World will too. You get what you expect. Negativity usually develops unconsciously, which comes from a mixture of different sources, including disappointments from childhood, people in your life who all influence you, whether you realise it or not. By your career satisfaction, health, finances, relationships and your internal reactions to all of these things. Thoughts clog and busy the mind, which tend to weigh you down, so practicing methods which will allow you to clear your head, let go of these thoughts and ultimately leave your mindset unaffected. Some of these methods include taking a walk in nature, focusing all your thoughts on all the things that you appreciate in your life. Things you have to look forward to, things which bring you joy, people you love. Notice the nature around you, smile and breathe deeply, physically let all those heavy thoughts holding dead weight go. Youll return so much more relaxed, lighter and peaceful. Write down at least 10 things in your life you are grateful for, 10 people you love and their best attributes that bring you joy, what you most appreciate about them. Write down 10 things you have to look forward to within the next 6 months; if you dont have any thats a big reason for your mood so go and get some things to look forward to organised! Write down 10 things that you want to accomplish within the next 12 months. You get the picture, focus on everything good that will shift your paradigm. Then read it all back to yourself, say it out loud to hear the words, and move your body while you do it. One of the biggest ways to create a shift is to change your physiology; read any Anthony Robbins book or listen to any of his audios, he really explains the power of the relationship between the way you hold yourself, move your body and speak, to your moods and psychology. Meditate and visualize the good coming into your life. Meditation increases the seratonin levels in your body, which is in essence the peace hormone which creates relaxation, joy and healing. It gives you perspective and a distance from your problem, giving you a feeling of detachment- see my other articles for more on meditation. Meditation has been proven time and again to create positive shifts in your life, bringing about profound changes, so long as you are willing to accept the power of meditation. Start looking for the good in people and stop looking reasons to be offended. Ignore their frailties, because thats just a projection of your feelings about your own frailties. We are, after all, only human and by nature human beings arent perfect. Focusing on the good in all people, and the goodness behind their intentions will create so much forgiveness, and allow you to see past the surface, forgive mistakes and be so much more accepting. When someone would ordinarily irritate you, or you receive aggression from another person, dont retaliate, move aside and let their aggression continue past you and respond with tolerance. This, for your benefit, means that nobody has the power to control or dictate your mood anymore, because no matter how foolish somebody appears to be acting, you will be unaffected because you raise your consciousness above something to trivial. You will find that people will be more attracted to you behave in this way, because you will have the energy of somebody they feel safe and open with, they will feel the acceptance and non-judgement from you, which is a very safe feeling for another person to pick up from other person, they will sense your easy heart. As a for instance you can feel when a negative, aggressive person enters the room, they have an energy you can just sense, they give off a vibration of tension, making everybody in their vicinity feel uncomfortable, on guard and defensive. It can sap the energy out of a room, and you just want to get away from them! These toxic energy field that people carry, and we unconsciously feel, and infectious, and if youre around someone like that long enough, it will affect you. Where as when youre around someone bursting with happiness, love, excitement, acceptance, charisma and patience, it makes you feel peaceful and happy, and like osmosis you start feeling similar to them. Which person do you decide to be?! If youre in a situation youre not entirely happy about, put humour into it, dont allow yourself to get wound up, because anger wont solve the situation. Detach yourself from it and see it with humour, which will make the situation seem smaller and it will take less of a hold on you. You will only add to the toxicity by indulging in your frustration, but take the light hearted road and you become gentle and much more resilient and patient, which has much more strength of character than reacting in the moment. You cant necessarily change the situation in that moment, but you can change your reaction. Humour gives you objectivity and distance, and the situation will seem like a much smaller deal. If you can apply this to as many situations as possible it will keep you calm and detached and you will be able to find another way around it, rather than letting it stop you in your tracks. Adopt the mindset that there is always another way. The struggle is only as much as you want to make it, it just takes a little more courage and will, but it can and will transform your life. You must have belief in your own abilities. Do you have any goals/ ambitions/ dreams or talents that deep down you want to pursue? Whats holding you back? Feelings of guilt? Feelings that youre not good enough? Worrying that people will judge you? Youre scared? Etc, etc, etc. These are all beliefs that you created and allowed to continue. Theyre totally made up, but they become self-fulfilling prophecies. You need to ask yourself whether theyre really worth holding onto? Forget all those limiting beliefs that are holding you back because theyre not only creating beliefs about yourself which make you feel less worthy than you are, under-confident, etc, but theyre also stopping you from reaching your full potential, whatever that is in your heart. Stop letting false beliefs hold you back! You never know when youre time to go is, and there is nothing you will regret more than, as Wayne Dyer puts it so beautifully, dying with your music still inside of you. Whatever your desires are they are totally unique to you and it is your birth-right to go and see them fulfilled, freely, to the best of your ability. Its up to you whether you will rise above the opinion of others and the terror barrier which stands between you and your victory. Can you crash through it and go and do it anyway? Dont cheat yourself out of your happiness because youre convincing yourself that you cant, or you shouldnt for whatever reason. Live everyday like theres no tomorrow and feel good about it. There is so much pleasure to be had from controlling your own life, directing every decision and plan freely with nothing holding you back. This freedom will give you so much satisfaction, which will bring you more peace and happiness, increasing your quality of life, and quality of life is what we all want, above everything. Allowing yourself to stay stuck whatever rut you may be in is only going to keep bringing you more of what you are experiencing now, it wont fix itself. Be brave and take the leap! Whatever it is for you, you know deep down what it is. No more excuses, go and live your life the way it was intended!

On Saturday, September 1, 2007, a major event occurred for the first time in college football history that sent ripples throughout college football. The event that took place was a football game between NCAA Division 1 powerhouse Michigan and Division 1AA Champion Appalachian State.
According to the experts, this game had the making of a classic “David vs. Goliath” Story in which David had NO CHANCE of winning and the game was viewed as a joke that wasn’t supposed to be taken seriously. Michigan was considered a contender for the 2007 National Championship and ranked #5 in the nation. Appalachian State was last year’s D-1AA Champion, not ranked in the same polls
as Michigan and considered completely out of their league when compared next to Michigan.
