Don’t Hang Off the Wagon!

Categories: Self Improvement | June 26th, 2009 | by admin | no comments

How often do we fall, or even hang off the wagon?

We all go through the various ebbs and flows of inspiration and apathy. However, when we see that cool movie or see Brad Pitt with six-pack abs in Fight Club, we jump back on the wagon. This depends on the person and their own life experience, but generally, there is no smooth upward ascent. Generally, our boosts of inspiration will eventually fade and we will forget, unconsciously, of our own goals and what we had to do to achieve them.

The Secret to Instant and Lasting Motivation

Categories: Motivational | March 10th, 2009 | by admin | no comments

A great trick I use to stay motivated all the time!

Do you have a list of goals and desires that have yet to be fulfilled? Do you find yourself generating exciting new ideas only to find that you lose the motivation to complete them shortly after you get started? Perhaps you talk yourself out of that great new idea even before you even begin to pursue it.

How To Become Inspired To Be Creative

Categories: Self Improvement | January 3rd, 2009 | by admin | no comments

Many people aspire to become creative, or at the most enhance their creative streak. But they do not know how to go about this. Well, research has indicated that it is not enough to have a certain talent (or “genius”) – you must also have the inclination to be dedicated and persistent at honing that talent. So those people who seem to be fountains of creativity actually have to work hard at being creative.

What then should be done if you want to enhance your creativity?

First, make a comprehensive definition of the problem at hand, if it is possible. This opens up a world of possibilities for you (rather than confining yourself to a narrow definition of the problem which would restrict the possible answers you could come up with.)

Stop Trying To Be Perfect!

Categories: Self Improvement | January 1st, 2009 | by admin | no comments

If you want to talk about a limiting perspective on life that can take you out of the game faster than anything, it is what I call the “perfectionist frame.” The feeling or belief that whatever you are doing or working on has to be nothing less than perfect or it is unacceptable.

There are many possible places this comes from, whether it’s having parents who put that kind of pressure and expectation on you as a child, the experience of actually having done some thing(s) to perfection in the past and developing a compulsive attachment to that experience, wanting to show everything and everyone that you can do it or ultimately you really are better then them at the end of the day, the fear of “screwing up” or letting people down, fear or criticism, and on and on and on.

What Is Stopping You?

Categories: Self Improvement | December 26th, 2008 | by admin | no comments

There are three important principals at work when it comes to achieving your maximum performance. These are principals that are often ignored but are essential to understand.

First, your maximum is determined by how your are built. Genetics does play a part in what you can be good at. Some of us are not capable of being world class sprinters or Olympic swimmers. We deceive ourselves if we think otherwise. TV reality shows make entertainment out of this principal when we have to watch people who believe that genetics don’t matter and they have the stuff to make it. Having said this there are an awful lot of people who have the genetics but never do anything with it.

The Importance Of Being A Physical Visible Member Of The Church Of Jesus Christ

Categories: Self Improvement | December 21st, 2008 | by admin | no comments

My aim and goal in writing from Acts Chapter 9 in the New Testament is to seek to show, amongst other things, how vitally important friends are. Some friends are named and others remain unnamed, but each played his part.

This man who had been so very violent against disciples of Jesus Christ finally joins The Christian Fellowship. This is an important principle. From the very beginning Saul is committed to The Church of Jesus Christ. He was a physical visible member. Wherever he goes over the next 30 years, Paul (as he was later called) is committed to The Church, which is The Body of Christ. No matter what city or community he goes to, we see this vital principle. Now this is not widely taught.

Categories: Self Improvement | December 20th, 2008 | by admin | no comments

“People with goals succeed because they know where they are going. It’s as simple as that.”

Earl Nightingale

All of you must have set yourself some goals. A goal, in simple terms, is a properly defined target that can give you clarity of thought, direction in life, motivation to achieve something in your life and the ability to focus on your life’s agenda.

While for many of you being able to achieve even the most simple of tasks can prove to be a Herculean task. The Blah Spot

Categories: Self Improvement | December 16th, 2008 | by admin | no comments

Are you feeling a little lost? Maybe a bit groundless? Not that place of utter despair, depression and crisis…we know, we’ve been there too.

Today is not that day. It’s more of a ‘take-one-step in one direction’ and then change directions and change again, and again.

And today, you’re at least conscious enough of it to stop, with the intention to “gather yourself”. So you sit there, and think and think or journal even, but no “gathering” is going on.
