Recession, the dreaded "r" word has sneaked up like a deadly crimson tide leaving destruction in its path.

With retail going down and the price of commodities going up the consumer is left with nothing to spend on luxuries.

The tide sweeps into businesses more so creating havoc through rising prices and a lack of trade, resulting in countless job losses.

It is too late for prevention, too late for cure and all that can be done is to cope with it and soften its blow.

The rising of education cost makes college education become more and more expensive; especially in today's bad economy situation where students are hardly get a loan to finance their study. According to college education & funding survey reports found, the results show that college tuition fees have increased by over 400 percent from year 1982 to 2007 while households' income rose below 150%. Situation may become worse following the bad economy that leads to a recession, which may put higher education out of the reach for most students. Have you ever been in a position where you made a decision because you felt at the time that you had to, even though your mind was woolly and the world was unreal? I am sure you lived to not only regret that decision, but also to ask yourself “What had gotten into me when I decided that?”

And it is possible that at the time you were recently traumatised, for example being widowed, walking away from a very destructive relationship, being forced to leave a job, and so on.

Education is a big debate. There is no doubt that there is room for improvement in this country and many others. God knows it is a big topic of discussion in parties, meetings, gym classes and homes. And everywhere else.

Now what has come to my attention whenever I come across one of those instant “open forums” where everybody gets to jump in and share his/her views is that everybody knows what’s not working but nobody has any solution. The discussions are merely criticisms or teachers, the government, parents, kids, video games, TV or whatever else it to blame for the O-terrible-state-of-education. But who has anything to propose to actually change things?
