She finally decided she had to finish and though one year behind, finished high school Her plans were to go on to college, which she did. It was her pregnancy that put a stall on these plans.

Categories: Computers and Technology, Email, Self Improvement | December 26th, 2008 | by admin | no comments

Why is it that as we progress through our lives, we often get the message that we have something to prove? We believe that we have to be proficient at everything in order to be considered successful. What is it about our ego that causes us to value who we are based on what others think?

So often the culture we work in is overly competitive and each person is looking to “get theirs”. We believe we have to continually prove ourselves or do things on our own so we aren’t considered incompetent. We fear that someone else will make us look bad, or worse take our position. Is it our ego? What are we afraid of? Why don’t we help each other?

Technology - Education Power Tool

Categories: Computers and Technology, Education | December 16th, 2008 | by admin | no comments

Have you ever heard someone say “technology is just a tool” when referring to the use of computers and electronic media in education? Do you agree with that statement? I agree that technology is a tool that can be used in education. Where I differ from the above statement is the use of the words “just a tool.” Technology is not just a tool, it is a power tool for educating children.

Students adopt some combination of three primary learning styles. The three learning styles are auditory, visual, and kinesthetic. Auditory learners learn best by hearing information, visual learners learn best by seeing information, and kinesthetic learners learn best by doing.

Dreams are a part of life and they come straight from the heart. Mack David wrote, “A dream is a wish your heart makes.” If you work hard enough, you can accomplish anything. It’s all a state of mind. If you believe in yourself, then nothing else matters.

First, make a list of your goals. Write them down and prioritize them. If your list is longer than you expected, don’t get discouraged. Work on each subject one at a time. It’s like hiking the Pacific Crest Trail, from Mexico to Canada, 2,485 miles long. Do it one step at a time. You’ll eventually get there.

In a number of articles, the truths and lessons which I have been writing about, have been based on the authority of the book of Acts. Bible Studies? Dry, dull and boring? Nonsense!

One of the strong messages arising throughout the Book of Acts is, nothing can stop the Gospel, and, no-one can prevent this Word from spreading.
